The Rush/Redgate/MCC Spring Invitational will be held on Sunday tee off is set for 7:30 am, at the Meridian Naval Air Station Golf Course. There will be 13 junior college golf teams competing in the match.
The Meridian Community College golf team is ranked No. 6 in the nation and will host this Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) event. Members of the MCC team include; Matthew Smith (medalist in the ICC Invitational held March 15 and 16), Winston Powell (All-Tournament team for the ICC Invitational held March 15 and 16), and Joel Myrick (participant in the National Amateur held this past August).

Ole Miss set to take on Alabama on the diamond
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. No. 5 Ole Miss and Alabama will open a three-game Southeastern Conference series Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Joe Sewell-Thomas Stadium. Game two of the series is Saturday at 4 p.m., and Sunday's series finale is slated for 2 p.m.
The Rebels are 18-2 for the year and 3-0 in the SEC after sweeping Vanderbilt last weekend in Oxford. Ole Miss lost at Southern Miss 8-7 on Tuesday night in a non-conference game.
Alabama is 16-7 overall and 1-2 in the conference. The Crimson Tide dropped 2-of-3 games at Georgia last weekend in an SEC series, and blasted Morehead State 20-2 in a non-conference game on Wednesday at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.

Ole Miss journeys to LSU
OXFORD The Ole Miss track and field teams will head south for the weekend, to compete at the LSU Relays in Baton Rouge, La. The meet will be held at the Bernie Moore Track Stadium on the LSU campus.
The two-day meet will run today and Saturday, with action in the field events beginning at 3 p.m. today and noon on Saturday. Running events will follow on both days at 4:30 p.m. and noon, respectively.
