Up close &personal with ECCC women's basketball

Brooks is in her first year as assistant coach with the Lady Warriors. She came to ECCC after serving as executive director of the Boys and Girls Club of San Marcos, Texas.
Brooks previously was a recruiting coordinator and top assistant for the women's program at Texas State University (formerly known as Southwest Texas State University) in San Marcos.
Texas State advanced to the Southland Conference Tournament each of her five years as assistant. The 2003 team she helped build won the conference tournament and competed in the NCAA Tournament.
Brooks is also a former head coach at Monterey (Cal.) Peninsula Junior College for one season. She also served on the staffs at Oregon State and California-Berkley.
Lenore Gray
Gray is a 6-foot sophomore forward from Newton. She is ranked second in the NJCAA in field goal percentage at 61.7 percent (171-of-277) through 31 games.
She is averaging 12.9 points and 8.0 rebounds and has 66 steals and 25 blocked shots. Of her 247 rebounds, 126 have come on the offensive end. She's played in all 31 games and has a season-high of 30 points.
Gray played on Newton's 27-7 team that played in the Class 2A state tournament in 2002, losing 60-40 in the quarterfinals to Mound Bayou John F. Kennedy.
She was chosen all-district, all-state, and all-star at Newton for coach Crandal Porter.
Kristin Chaney
Chaney is a 5-foot-4 freshman point guard from Little Rock by way of Newton County High School. She was known more for her softball skills in high school, but has provided a key influence on the Lady Warrior basketball team.
Chaney is averaging 10.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists and has 68 steals and three blocked shots. She's made 50.8 percent (121-of-238) of her field goal attempts. Chaney's also a 62.2 percent free-throw shooter. She's 20-of-67 from behind the 3-point arc and has played in all 31 games. She has a season-high of 20 points.
Chaney was selected to the MAC Fast-Pitch All-Star Games last summer and was named all-district and all-state in basketball.
LaSaundra Harrison
Harrison is a 5-foot-3 freshman guard from Union. She is a redshirt this year after injuring her left knee her senior year in high school.
She was chosen all-district and honorable mention all-state at Union.
Hope Murray
Murray is a 5-foot-9 sophomore forward from West Jones. She has appeared in 16 games and averages 1.3 points and 0.8 rebounds.
Murray was chosen all-district at West Jones.
