DEKALB Services for Marzett "Toddy" Spells will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in Collinsville with the Revs. Chester Davis Jr. and Ricky Spells officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with E.E. McDonald Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Spells, 44, of Collinsville, died Monday, March 1, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include his son, Quincy Larkin of Union; his mother, Ida Jean McFarland, and a special friend, Annie Marsh, both of Collinsville; four sisters, Brenda Spells and Stepanie Warren, both of Collinsville; Kim McFarland of Meridian; and Marlene Spells of New Jersey; two brothers, Brian McFarland of Collinsville; and Nelson McFarland of Meridian; seven aunts, five uncles and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marzene Spells, a brother, Jimmy McFarland, and his grandparents.
Visitation will be Monday from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
PHILADELPHIA Services for L.D. McDonald will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Coy United Methodist Church in Preston with the Revs. Lawrence Poole and John Branning officiating. Burial will be in Coy Methodist Cemetery in Preston with McClain-Hays Funeral Service, Inc. in charge of arrangements.
Mr. McDonald, 69, of Preston, died Saturday, March 6, 2004, at his home in Preston.
Survivors include his wife, Susan McDonald of Preston; daughters, Tammy Jones of Philadelphia; and Michelle Copeland of Preston; her son, Jackie McDonald of Fulton; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Lynn McDonald.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services for Thelma Erleen Buckley will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Buckley, 84, of New Orleans, formerly of Meridian, died Thursday, March 4, 2004, at West Jefferson Hospital in Marrero, La. She was born Dec. 18, 1919 in Newton County and lived in Meridian until she moved to New Orleans three years ago. Mrs. Buckley was a longtime member of Highland Baptist Church of Meridian, then Oak Park Baptist Church of New Orleans. She was involved with the Railroad Retirement Association.
Survivors include her son, Edwin L. Buckley Jr. and his wife, Judith, Shannon Buckley of Marrero, La.; daughters, Laura Belle Faulkner and her husband, Don, of Pensacola, Fla., Jeannette Ferguson of Meridian and Frances Taylor and her husband, Harold, of Hertford, N.C.; a sister, Mary Barber Davis of Laurel; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Lawrence "Pete" Buckley of Meridian; a brother, W.A. "Bud" Barber, sisters, Elizabeth Harper and Juanita Bishop.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home and Monday at 11⁄2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
Services for Dorian St. George will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mr. St. George, 92, of Fairview Park, Ohio, died Monday, March 1, 2004, in Westlake, Ohio. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his son, Allen G. St. George and his wife, Joan; a grandson, David St. George and his wife, Janet; and a granddaughter, Lisa Mnn, and her husband, Patrick.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Ray.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be 11⁄2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
