Services for Howard Mobley will be held today at 2 p.m. at Mt. Cephus Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Hubbard officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hebron Cemetery will Berry &Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Mobley, of Chattanooga, Tenn., died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004 in Chattanooga.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Mobley, and his son, Bobby Joe Mobley, both of Chattanooga; three sisters, Dessie Boyd of Lauderdale; and Johnnie M. Hartman and Gertha Jefferson, both of Cleveland, Ohio; and his brother, Joe Burton of Lauderdale.
UNION Services for Roy Clyde Gardner will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Milling Funeral Home Chapel in Union with the Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Burial will be in the High Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Neshoba County.
Mr. Gardner, 90, of Union, died Thursday, March 4, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital. He owned and operated Gardner's Florist in Union for many years.
Survivors include his nephew, Andrew H. Gardner and his wife, Caroline, of Richland; his niece, Martha S. Beatty of West Point; two great-nieces, Andrea Carol Anderson of Richland; and Nikki Stafford of West Point; two great-nephews, Marty Stafford of West Point; and Jesse B. Gardner of Richland.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
MACON Graveside services for Vallejo Hollstein will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at Salem Cemetery in Macon with the Rev. Jerry Zgarba officiating. Cockrell Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hollstein, 94, of Macon, a native of Shubuta, died Friday, March 5, 2004, at Noxubee County Nursing Home.
Survivors include her husband, Lennie Hollstein of Macon; two daughters, Wanda Matthews of New Burn, N.C.; and Fay "Sue" Seitz of Macon; her son, Carl W. "Buck" Craig of Brooksville; her sister, Gladys S. Goad of Lucedale; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl W. Craig, and her daughter, Mary Jo Wooten.
Services for Thelma Erleen Barber Buckley will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Buckley, 84, of New Orleans, formerly of Meridian, died Thursday, March 4, 2004, at West Jefferson Hospital in Marrero, La. She was born Dec. 18, 1919 in Newton County and lived in Meridian until she moved to New Orleans three years ago. Mrs. Buckley was a longtime member of Highland Baptist Church of Meridian, then Oak Park Baptist Church of New Orleans. She was involved with the Railroad Retirement Association.
Survivors include her son, Edwin L. Buckley Jr. and his wife, Judith, Shannon Buckley of Marrero, La.; daughters, Laura Belle Faulkner and her husband, Don, of Pensacola, Fla., Jeannette Ferguson of Meridian and Frances Taylor and her husband, Harold, of Hertford, N.C.; a sister, Mary Barber Davis of Laurel; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Lawrence "Pete" Buckley of Meridian; a brother, W.A. "Bud" Barber, sisters, Elizabeth Harper and Juanita Bishop.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home and Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Arrangements were incomplete at E.E. McDonald Funeral Home for Alonzo B. Roberts, 32, of Meridian, who died Thursday, March 4, 2004, at his home.
