Services for James Edgar Boyd Sr. will be held today at 11:30 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Jimmy Harrison and Tommy Gilbert officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mr. Boyd, 88, of Gilbertown, Ala., died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, in Gilbertown. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church and the board of directors for the church. He was a retired conductor for G.M.&O Railroad.
Survivors include his daughter, Cheryl Linton and her husband, Owen, of Denham Springs, La.; a son, James E. Boyd Jr. and his wife, Marcus, of Gilbertown; two sisters, Lucille McGee of Macon and Ora Hudnall of Porterville; six grandchildren, Bruce Linton and his wife, Marsha, of Florence, S.C., Michael Linton and his wife, Etta, of Vidor, Texas, Jonathan Boyd, Jordan Boyd, Jade Boyd and Ethan Boyd, all of Gilbertown; a great-granddaughter, Alyssa Brooke Linton of Florence; a great-grandson, James Boyd Linton of Vidor; several nieces and nephews; and a special caretaker and friend, Ron Smith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janell Rasberry Boyd; his parents, Claiborn K. Boyd and his wife, Ovilla; three brothers; and three sisters.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Long, Lamar Bailey, Rupert Buchanan, Billy Harry Jr., Clayton Cobler, Fred Edminston and O.P. Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Smith, and former retired G.M.&O Railroad employees.
PHILADELPHIA Graveside services for Terry Young will be held today at 3 p.m. at Cedarlawn Cemetery with the Rev. Harold Ethridge officiating. McClain-Hays Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Young, 50, of Whitfield, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at Mississippi State Hospital.
Survivors include his sisters, Cassandra Fountain of Collinsville and Glenda Kopf of Meridian; brothers, Rosser L. Young Jr. of Forest, Samuel P. Young of Clinton and Gerald L. Young of Rising Sun, Ind.; and his step-father, Kenneth Smith of Meridian.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ora Jean Young Smith and Rosser L. Young Sr.
Visitation will be today beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

PHILADELPHIA Services for Roma I. Day will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Philadelphia Church of God with the Rev. Oliver A. Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Longino Cemetery in Philadelphia. McClain-Hays Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Day, 71, of Philadelphia, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, at Neshoba County General Hospital in Philadelphia.
Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Walker of Petal; six sons, Donald Day of Moss Point, Rickie Day of Meridian, and Ronald Day, Danny Day, Dennis Day, and Michael Day, all of Philadelphia; 22 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Earl Day and Charles Day.
Visitation will be today from 4 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services for Timothy Neal Beaver will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Mediator. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Beaver, 38, of Meridian, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, in his home.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. in the church parish hall.
QUITMAN Services for Desmond Bonner will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Green Hill Baptist Church in Shubuta with the Rev. Darrin Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Davenport Cemetery with Berry &Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Infant Bonner, 13 months, of Shubuta, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro.
Survivors include his parents, Bennie and Febi Bonner of Shubuta; his maternal grandparents; and his paternal grandparents.
Visitation will be Sunday from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home in Quitman.
Private graveside services for Ann Montgomery May will be held Monday with the Rev. Dr. Raymon Leake officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. May, 98, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Meridian, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, in Houston. She was born in Eden and lived in Jackson before moving to Meridian.
Survivors include her daughter, Ann May Smith of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Garland Smith Linkenhoger and her husband, Norman, Kendall Smith Rainer and her husband, Richard and Courtney Smith; four great-grandchildren, Ashleigh Linkenhoger, Brittany Linkenhoger, Cole Rainer and Bennet Rainer.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Meridian or the Ann May Smith Endowment Scholarship Fund at Second Baptist School, 6410 Woodway, Houston, TX 77057.

NEWTON Services for Claudean D. Nester will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Gus Merritt officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery.
Mrs. Nester, 87, of Decatur, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at The Specialty Hospital of Meridian. She was a member of Clark-Venable Baptist Church in Decatur.
Survivors include three children, Daniel M. Nester of Decatur, Marsha Kay Nester of Sebastopol, and Davis D. Nester of Memphis, Tenn.; a brother, Mike Donald of Texas; two sisters, Bonnie Shepard and Lois Cannon, both of Carthage; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by Col. Willard Faye Nester.
Visitation will be Sunday from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services for Mary M. White will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at True Vine Holiness Church with the Rev. James Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery with Berry &Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. White, 83, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, in her home.
Survivors include six sons, James Barnes and Fredrick A. White, both of Meridian, Johnny White of Pearl, Samuel White of San Antonio, Charles White of Bronx, N.Y., and Kenneth A. White, of Broken Arrow, Okla.; four daughters, Robbie L. Land of Bronx, N.Y., Mary K. Clark of Atlanta, Naomi R. Carson and Jo Jean Emerson, both of Meridian; eight sisters, Betty Jean Webb of Chicago, Barbara Roberts of Indianapolis, Julia Norman of Richland, and Pearlie Clark, Sara Sims, Joyce Boyd, Betty Naylor, and Gloria Granger, all of Meridian; a brother, Frank Martin of Gary, Ind.; 30 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday from 7 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

QUAMADO, N.M. Services for Aslyn Paige Tallulah Ryan were held Saturday Feb. 14, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Quamado Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Pence officiating. Burial was in Quamado Cemetery. French Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
Infant Ryan, 1, of Honolulu, Hawaii, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children in Honolulu.
Survivors include her parents, Timothy V. and Deona A. Ryan of Honolulu; brothers, Michael Ryan, Jeremy Ryan and Dusty Mansfield, all of Honolulu; paternal grandparents, Gary and Zoe Ryan of Lauderdale, Miss.; maternal grandparents are Tom Adams of Texas and Rose and Mikel Burnett of Oklahoma and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Arrangements were incomplete at Stephens Funeral Home for Kathryn Brown Hill, 90, of Jackson, who died Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, at Willow Creek Retirement Home in Byrum.
