His baseball camp may be one of the easiest parts of Jay Powell's year.
And for the 10th year in a row, Powell will show up, direct and bring a few friends along on Saturday to the Jay Powell Baseball Camp in Collinsville. The day-long clinic will take place at West Lauderdale High School from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The camp is sponsored by Rush Hospital.
All proceeds will be donated to Wesley House.
Houston Astros pitcher Roy Oswalt, Anaheim Angels outfielder Barry Wesson and others are scheduled to participate as instructors at the clinic.
Powell said the camp will focus on basic skills of hitting, pitching and base running.
The camp is open to anyone in grades 3-8. The registration fee of $35 covers a t-shirt and lunch. An autograph session with Powell and the camp's instructors will follow the clinic.
