Just a little more time

Lauderdale County supervisors want a little more time to consider a motion to borrow $3.4 million so they can pave some roads. Road-paving is a cherished supervisors' tradition and, honestly, many roads in Lauderdale County need attention.
Unfortunately, most of them are inside the city of Meridian.
Here's the situation:
The city has money to pave roads it borrowed $6 million months ago and has yet to spend a dime of it but has not demonstrated the political will to make it happen. Supervisors may have the political will to pave roads, but not the money.
Looks to us like another opportunity for city-county cooperation.
