The East Central Community College men's basketball team improved its record to 4-6 for the season with a 93-74 win over Itawamba Community College (4-8).
Jammal Martin scored a game-high 26 points for the Warriors, and Desmond Jones and All Willis contributed 13 and 11, respectively.
Eric Adams tallied 22 points for Itawamba.
ECCC (women) 73
Itawamba 70
The No. 25-ranked East Central Community College women's basketball team grabbed an overtime win over Itawamba Community College on Thursday.
The Lady Warriors improved their record to 9-2 with the victory.
Kristen Cheney tallied 15 points for ECCC in the win. Kotreece Bender scored 11 points for the Lady Warriors, and Rita Virden added 10.
Michelle Freeman paced Itawamba's offensive attack with 18 points.
Prep Basketball
MCA (girls) 43
Emanuel Christian 37
Macon Central Academy increased its record to 9-6 with a 43-37 victory over Emanuel Christian on Thursday.
Olivia Reed tallied a game-high 16 points for MCA, and Anzie Bennett added 10 in the win.
Katie McKinney scored 14 points for Emanuel Christian.
Sumter Cty (boys) 40
Demopolis 29
DEMOPOLIS, Ala. The Sumter County (Ala.) boys basketball team, ranked No. 2 in Class 3A, outscored Demopolis 13-1 in the fourth quarter to overcome a 28-27 deficit and claim victory Wednesday.
Senior guard Reaynundo Sturdivant led Sumter County (13-1) with 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for a double-double. Marko Mitchell added nine points and led the Wildcats with 15 rebounds.
Dontrell Miller scored 12 points for Demopolis.
College Basketball

McMurrey 56
Lacey Palomarez and Robin Ray Burns each tallied 16 points for the Lady Choctaws (10-1) in the team's victory over McMurrey University (8-3) on Thursday.

Four Mississippi College men's basketball players scored in double figures in the Choctaws (8-3) win over McMurrey University on Thursday.
Mississippi College's B.J. Black scored 26 points, and Corey White added 18 in the win. Nick Paige notched 11 points for the Choctaws, and James Dixon tallied 10.

Harding 43
Amber Gean scored a team-high 13 points to lead the Delta State University Lady Statesmen (11-2, 2-0 GSC) to victory over Harding on Thursday.
