Area players earn 4-4A honors

Area teams were well represented on the All-Region 4-4A teams that were recently selected by coaches in the region.
Neshoba Central and Louisville both had players making first and second team.
The award for most valuable offensive player went to Chris Herron of Kosciusko, while Pearl swept the awards for the defense and coaching staff, as Isaac Bryant took the honor on defense and Larry Weems was named coach of the year for the region.
For Neshoba Central, fullback Kevin Marshall, center Tyler Hardy and punter Joe Cumberland were all named to the first team offense.
Outside linebacker Titus Clark was named to the First Team Defense for Neshoba Central.
From Louisville, lineman Mentral Ledbetter, defensive lineman Greg Hathorn, inside linebacker Courtney Coleman and defensive back Michael Sims were all selected to the first team.
Also on the first team were Ty Weems, Pat Jenkins, Craig Jenkins, Tim Booker and David Cooper from Pearl. Canton's Davarius Jackson made the first team. Kosciusko's Terry Levy, Derrick Ervin, Chap Fenkwick, Orland Teague and Torrey Stewart made first team.
Aaron Williams, Jay Roberts, Anthony Wilson and Jess Simmons also made the team from Ridgeland.
On second team for the Wildcats were quarterback Barry Doss, lineman Jerhame Hopkins, defensive lineman Markevius Hoskins, inside linebacker Cornelius Colter and defensive back Caleb Reed.
The Rockets were also well represented on the second team defense. Lineman Cody Johnson and defensive lineman Josh Moore were both named to the team for their performance this season.
Justin Porter of Neshoba Central and Antoine Triplett of Louisville were also named for the Heart of Champion honor. Also receiving the honor were: Roy Webber, Kosciusko; Ty Weems and Justin Sanders, Pearl; Williams Travis, Ridgeland; and Dominique Puckett, Canton.
Also on second team were Fred Scott, Pearl; Keith Whitfield, Ridgeland; Dycus Bridges, Pearl; Andrew Lambert, Pearl; Jay Stokes, Canton; Aaron Wilkerson, Kosciusko; Gunnar Boykin, Ridgeland; Davin Davis, Bailey; Mikko Wilson, Kosciusko; Jessie Banefield, Ridgeland; Bryan Wesley, Canton; Adrian Williams, Ridgeland; Robert Gamblin, Kosciusko; Derek Holmes, Ridgeland; and Caurise Burk, Pearl.
Honorable mentions for All-Region 4-4A from Louisville were Chris Perry, Brandon Dotson, Juan Coburn, Juan Harrington, Rod Ingram, Deshun Yarbrough, Tavaris Welch and Will Butts.
Honorable mentions from Neshoba Central include Kyle Vowell, Adam Lyon, Williams Adkins, Taylor Petty, Kenyon Boatman, Brandon Alford and Jason Yarbrough.
