MCKINNEY, Texas Graveside services for Florence Parfrey Wright will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney. Belew Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Wright, 89, of Meridian, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, in Meridian. She was born on April 2, 1914, in Richland Center, Wis. She graduated from Northwestern University, majoring in piano and minoring in English. She taught piano for several years at Madison School of Music in Madison, Wis.
During World War II, she worked for the government as a Morse Code operator in St. Louis. There she met and married Gillette Foy Wright. They made their home in St. Louis for 51 years. She gave private piano lessons from her home in St. Louis for many years.
Survivors include her daughter, Pam Wright Kerlin and her husband, Robert, of Meridian; sons, Bruce Wright and his wife, Sydney, of Eugene, Ore., and Brian Wright of Nashville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Kimberly Kerlin of Anchorage, Alaska, Katherin Kerlin, a Peace Corps volunteer in Ecuador, and Casey Wright of Eugene; several cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Alfred Parfrey and Letha Smith Parfrey; and her husband, Gillette Foy Wright.
Visitation will Friday one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
Retired U.S. Navy
Services for Gary David Norskov will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Davey Wilkinson and Commander Terry Cook officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Norskov, 59, of Meridian, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2003, in Meridian. He was a retired master chief of the U.S. Navy and served 31 years.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Norskov of Meridian; daughters, Geri Leon and her husband, John, of Hattiesburg, Gail Dees and her husband, Tim, and Brenda Miles and her husband, Shaun, all of Meridian; granddaughters, Samantha Leon and Jordan Miles; his mother, Viola Norskov of Papillion, Neb.; sisters, Marlene Durant and her husband, Don, of Pocatello, Idaho, and Jackie Ipock and her husband, Ernie, of Omaha, Neb.; brothers, Don Norskov and his wife, Phyllis, of Omaha and Richard Norskov and his wife, Paula, of Elizabeth, Ind.; his father-in-law, Carl Pflaum of Pawnee City, Neb.; brothers-in-law, Dale Pflaum and his wife, Suzanne, of Ada, Okla., and Richard Pflaum of Pawnee City; a sister-in-law, Karen Harlow; a special friend, Alen Brown of Pawnee City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Norskov; and his mother-in-law, Mildred Pflaum.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Coley, Ron Looney, Sonny Miller, Lomax Rosamond, Buddy Shirley and Henry Skinner.
Visitation will be Thursday 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Retired registered nurse
Services for Girlean Hodges will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in Little Zion Cemetery. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hodges, 91, of Stonewall, died Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include her daughters, Emma Blanks of Stonewall and Clara Coleman of Laurel; 19 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Visitation will be Thursday 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home in Quitman.
Retired steel mill employee
QUITMAN Services for Willie Walker will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery.
Mr. Walker, 91, of Quitman, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, in his home.
Survivors include a sister, Leona Rivers of Mendenhall; two grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Retired City of Meridian employee
Services for Willie Kendricks Jr. will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery.
Mr. Kendricks, 56, of Meridian, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2003, at Guardian Angel Hospice.
Survivors include his sisters, Lottie Naylor of Spotsylvania, Va., and Deloris Randle of Meridian; brothers, Robert Kendricks of Meridian, Roosevelt Kendricks of Mobile, Ala., Calvin Kendricks of Omaha, Neb., and Myers Kendricks of Spotsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Visitation will be Friday 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Services for Anna C. Miller will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at Alpha and Omega Holiness Church in Toomsuba with the Rev. Freddie Ford officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Toomsuba. Clark's Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Miller, 95, of Toomsuba, died Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include her sons, Earlie Miller and his wife, Lena, of Cuba, Ala., Louis Miller and his wife, Avis, and Charles Miller, all of Aurora, Ill., Johnny Miller of Gary, Ind., and Bobby Miller of Toomsuba; daughters, Lillie Terrell and her husband, Justin, Ann Miller, Betty Jowers and her husband, Ted, of Aurora and Mamie Brown and her husband, Raymond, of Toomsuba; 41 grandchildren, 107 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Visitation will be Saturday 7 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

QUITMAN Services for Bertha J. Nicholson were held Thursday, Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. at Stonewall Methodist Church with the Rev. Lynn McRaney officiating. Burial was in Mont Rose Cemetery in Quitman. Wright's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Nicholson, 91, of Stonewall, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital in Quitman. She was a member of Stonewall United Methodist Church where she taught the ladies Sunday school class for many years.
Survivors include her daughters, Pansy Everett and her husband, Harper, of Bay Springs and Peggy Herring and her husband, Marvin, of Stonewall; a brother, Russell Johnston of San Francisco; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.B. Nicholson Jr.; a son, Coy Thomas Nicholson; a granddaughter, Amy Amanda Everett; a sister, Rubye Kitchens; and a brother, Orville Johnston.
Arrangements were incomplete at Stephens Funeral Home for Ida Simpson, 96, of Meridian, who died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, at King's Daughters and Sons Rest Home.
Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home for Edward E. Chambers, 69, of Meridian, who died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, in his home.
