    Russell Baptist Church is opening a Christian daycare center Jan. 5. Enrollment is open to children 6 months to 4 years. Registration will begin Monday at the church's childcare office, 1844 Highway 11/80. For more information, call (601) 483-0878.

    JACKSON The Jackson chapter of Barbershop Harmony meets at 7 p.m. Tuesdays at the Wesley Biblical Seminary, on the corner of Northside Drive and Manhattan Road.     Services for Refuge Christian Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church have moved to a new location: 829 47th Ave. Service times are: Sunday school, 9:30 a.m.; Sunday morning worship, 11 a.m.; and Bible class on Thursday, 7 p.m. For more information, call (601) 581-1610 or (601) 693-7880.
    Power Hour, which brings the Christian community together for inspiration and encouragement, meets the first Thursday of each month at First Baptist Church. The hour includes lunch, fellowship, prayer, inspirational music and testimony. It is open to all races, denominations and genders. No reservations are necessary.
    The cost of a deluxe meal is $6.50. Lunch is served 11:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. The program begins at 12:15 p.m. and ends at 12:45 p.m. For information, call Jimmy Slay at 482-9779.
    Fellowship Baptist Church is collecting labels from Campbell products to buy equipment for the church. Labels from the following Campbell products are requested: soups, beans, Swanson broths, Pepperidge Farm products, Prego pasta sauces, V-8 Juice and Franco-American Spaghettios.

    TODAY
    A Sip N Shop is scheduled from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Highland Baptist Church's family life center. More than 20 exhibitors will feature items such as pottery, jewelry, cheesecakes, candles, children's book's kitchen utensils, make-up baskets, frames, crafts items and other items.
    YORK, Ala. Dr. Henry Krabbendam, professor of the Department of Biblical Studies at Covenant College, Lookout Mountain, Ga., will be guest speaker at Covenant Presbyterian Church at 7 p.m. and 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Nov. 16. The church is at 500 Country Club Road. A reception for Krabbendam will be from 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. today.
    SUNDAY
    The congregation of Center Ridge Baptist Church will celebrate the church's 112th anniversary at 3:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Clinton Dwayne McFarland of Southside Baptist Church, Columbus.
    DECATUR Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church's annual pre-Thanksgiving musical will be presented at 5 p.m. All are choirs and soloists are encouraged to participate. The church is on Turkey Creek Road.
    The New Birth Jail Choir will perform at 5:30 p.m. at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 6183 Wesley Chapel Road.
    The Seven Seals program will be held at First Baptist Church in Gainesville, Ala., at 6 p.m..
    St. Paul United Methodist Church and the Sweets Spirits Inspirational Choir's 15th anniversary celebration of Friends and Family Day culminates with a presentation during 10:45 morning worship service. "Remembering the Gifts of God: His Joy, His Grace, His Everlasting Love" is the theme. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Joseph Washington, executive director of SharedCare Inc., Myrtle Beach, S.C. The church is at 2705 13th St.
    TUESDAY
    Darius Johnson of St. John Baptist Church will be guest speaker at Mission Meridian's Monthly Women's Prayer Luncheon. The luncheon is from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. at Oakland Heights United Methodist Church, Highway 19 North.     HEIDELBERG The congregation of Greater Beaver Meadow Missionary Baptist Church will observe he second anniversary of their pastor, the Rev. Clinton Heidelberg' on Dec. 13 and 14.
