Lamar rolls to win

The Lamar School Raiders continued to roll on Friday night as they took a convincing 32-2 victory over Parklane Academy on the road.
The Raiders jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter as Daniel Bennett capped off a 72-yard drive with a five-yard touchdown run. The PAT was blocked to make the score 6-0.
Parklane answered with a 29-yard field goal by Ben Wall with 3:18 left in the first quarter to cut the lead to 6-3.
Lamar stretched the lead as Drew Moffett found Blake Olmsted for an 18-yard touchdown pass with 5:28 left to play in the second quarter. The two-point conversion failed, keeping the score at 12-3.
The Raiders struck again with just 43 seconds left in the first half. Moffett found Lane Rush for a 38-yard touchdown pass and Tommy Edgerton hit the PAT to make the score 19-3 at half.
Moffett continued the Lamar scoring in the second half as he broke free on a 47-yard touchdown run with 8:56 left in the third quarter. Edgerton's kick made the score 26-3.
Lamar capped off the scoring with a 59-yard touchdown run by Dylan Anderson in the fourth quarter. The PAT was blocked once again to make the final score 32-3.
With the win, Lamar improves to 9-1 this season. The Raiders will finish off the regular season next Friday night as they host Hillcrest and will then be involved in playoff action the following week at home against Clarksdale Lee.
Wayne Academy 24
Central Holmes 6
Patton Stanley scored two touchdowns and the Wayne Academy Jaguars rolled to a 24-6 victory over Central Holmes in Friday night first-round playoff football.
Stanley scored on a 35-yard run and later scored on a 15-yard run to lead the Jaguars.
Colby Beasley scored on a 25-yard run and Brett Coxwell broke a long 80-yard run to finish out the scoring for Wayne Academy.
Central Holmes scored in the fourth quarter to make the final score 24-6.
Wayne Academy moves to 6-4 for the season with the win and will now host Briarfield (La.) in second-round playoff action next week.
