Marion mayor inducted into hall of fame

Marion Mayor Malcolm Threatt was one of 47 people inducted into the Mississippi League's Hall of Fame this month.
The Mississippi Municipal League Hall of Fame was created in 2002 to honor city elected board members, mayors, alderman, councilmen and selectmen who have served 20 years or more as a city elected official.
Threatt served as an alderman for 16 years from July 1977 to July 1993. He has served as mayor for 10 years, from July 1993 to the present. Hall of Fame member, indicted July 2, received special recognition at the Mississippi Municipal League's 72nd Annual Conference awards banquet.
