A man found severely beaten beside a Meridian railroad track April 16 died late Wednesday night or early this morning at a local hospital.
Deputy Coroner Clayton Cobler said the death has been ruled a homicide. He declined to release the man's name, pending notification of next of kin.
A spokesman for the Meridian Police Department said the victim was found by railroad workers at the 31st Avenue crossing early in the morning. He was in a semiconscious state.
