UNION Services for Earline Dean Evans were to be held today at 10 a.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Goodman officiating. Burial was to be in Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Evans, 76, of Union, formerly of Duffee, died Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at Hilltop Manor in Union.
Survivors include her daughters, Rhonda Harrison and Glenda Hines and her husband, Pete; a son, Randy Evans and his wife, Sonya, and a sister, Marie Hitt, all of Little Rock; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Evans.

Graveside services for Jimmie Lee Evans Sr. will be held today at 11 a.m. at West Mt. Moriah Cemetery with the Revs. Alvin Clay and Calvin Jenkins officiating. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Evans, 66, of Meridian, died Saturday, May 3, 2003, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances Davis of Meridian; sons, Jimmie L. Evans Jr. and his wife, Linda, Ronald E. Evans and his wife, Sandra, Anthony C. Evans and Joel E. Evans, all of Meridian; a daughter, Lisa A. Gordon "Baby Girl" and her husband, Antonio, of Meridian; sisters, Mary E. Tyler of Los Angeles and Mattie Sims of Meridian; brothers, Robert Evans of Meridian and Walter Evans and his wife, Thelma, of Montgomery, Ala.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and three children.

NEWTON Services for Herbert Pascal Williams will be held today at 2 p.m. at New Fellowship Baptist Church with the Revs. Norman Arthur, Phillip Gandy and Robert Rowzee officiating. Burial will be in New Fellowship Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Williams, 86, of Hickory, died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at The Specialty Hospital of Meridian. He was a retired dairyman. He was a deacon at New Fellowship Baptist Church and served as music director for 25 years. He was church treasurer for 35 years and held other offices over the years including Sunday school teacher and church clerk. He was in charge of the Cemetery Fund and the upkeep of the cemetery. He was a veteran of World War II in the Tenth Army Division. He was very active in the community and county. He served on the Board of Trustees of Hickory Co-Op and Hickory School. He was a trustee at East Central Dairy, ASCS and on the board of Farm Bureau for more than 29 years.
Mr. Williams always had a large garden, and he shared his produce with friends and neighbors. He loved everyone, and was well-loved by all. He will surely be missed.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Jeanette Baker Williams of Hickory; sons, Dan Williams and his wife, Gloria, and Joe Williams and his wife, Tommie, all of Hickory; a daughter, Faye Anderson and her husband, Michael, of Dothan,Ala.; grandchildren, Joey Williams and Amy Williams, Susan Dyess and Andre Dyess, all of Hickory and David and Emily Anderson of Dothan,Ala.; and two great-grandchildren, Haley Williams and Conner Williams of Hickory; and a sister, Ruby Bosch of Atlanta.
Pallbearers will be David Anderson, Joey Williams, Andre Dyess, George Williams, James Williams, and Wayne Jones.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lamar Thorne, Robert Chapman, Lavon Cochran, Billy Gibbon, Kenneth Boutwell, W.L. Freeman, Henry Sibley and Dr. Austin Boggan.
Farm equipment maintenance
Services for Raymond T. "Bilbo" Branning will be held today at 2:30 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Meadows officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Branning, 70, of Meridian, died Monday, May 5, 2003, at University Medical Center in Jackson. He was a longtime service man of farm equipment and a longtime member of Meridian Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy "Pat" Branning of Meridian; a son, Don Branning and his wife, Joni, of Kewanee; a grandson, Jack Clinton Branning of Kewanee; sisters, Audie Stewart and Edna Tinsley, both of Philadelphia, and Johnny Graves of Jackson; a brother, Milton Branning of Philadelphia; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eula Branning and Elmer Clinton Branning; a sister, Pearl Burks; and a brother, Stenies Branning.
Pallbearers will be Odell Burks, Billy Tinsley, Clois Branning, Robert Branning, Keith Branning and Mike Tinsley.

PHILADELPHIA Services for Nina Carter will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Eugene Dobbs officiating. Burial will be in Cedarlawn Cemetery in Philadelphia.
Mrs. Carter, 94, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Golden Triangle Hospital in Columbus.
Survivors include her daughters, Betty Cates of Abita Springs, La., Carolyn Barrere of Cartersville, Ga., and Janice Jordan of Columbus; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Carter; and a daughter, Sylvia Moreau.
Visitation will today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

GULFPORT Services for James E. "Jim" Harvey will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Gulfport. Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Harvey, 60, of Diamondhead, formerly of Meridian, died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, in Diamondhead. He entered the U.S. Navy Seabees in September 1959, and retired as a senior chief in 1979. He was a veteran of Vietnam.
Following his naval retirement, he was an automobile salesman for many years including eight years as general manager for Bill Byrd Honda in Biloxi.
Upon his retirement in 2001, he was operations manager of Day Detectives, Inc. in Gulfport. He was a member of St. Clare Catholic Church in Waveland and was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner. His integrity, wit and love for family and friends will be sadly missed by all.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Harvey; a daughter, Stephanie Castjohn; a sister, Linda Bentz of Long Beach; brothers, Ronnie Harvey of Biloxi and Steve Harvey of Long Beach; and two grandchildren, Victoria "Tori" Wilson and Chase Castjohn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert E. "Bob" Harvey and Frances McLelland Harvey; and a brother, Robert Lowery Harvey.
