Lamar shocked by Denney's death

Just an hour or so after enjoying winning the overall Mississippi Private School Association team golf championship, Lamar School was shocked and saddened by the news of the death of junior Drew Denney.
The 17-year-old, who was one of the top returning football players for the Raiders, was killed in an automobile accident on Tuesday afternoon near the school.
Lamar School principal and head football coach Mac Barnes said the school was devastated by the loss of Denney.
Denney is survived by his Darryl and Janna Denney and little sister Hope.
Denney also had a developed a close bond with Lamar line coach William McNeil, one of a few black coaches in Mississippi at a private school.
