Don't miss your chance to pet a goat, have your face painted and enjoy all-you-can-eat popcorn.
Children of all ages are invited to participate in those and other activities during the Kid's Fun Day on Saturday at the Meridian-Lauderdale County Public Library, 2517 Seventh St. near downtown.
A petting zoo, fun jump, fire engine, trolley rides and face painting will be available from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. behind the library. An arts and crafts show and a game for children, called "fishing for grab bags," will be 10 a.m.-2 p.m. inside the library.
All activities are free.
Hot dogs and Cokes will cost 50 cents each, while popcorn is free.
The fun day is being held in conjunction with Lauderdale County Library Week, which ends Saturday. The week is designed to make the public more aware of what the library offers.
McLendon has been employed with the library for 27 years and said the library has hosted a fun day most of those years. The event began to grow about 10 years ago when the petting zoo was included.
Hundreds of children are expected to attend the event. For more information, call the library at 693-6771.
And don't forget to register for a giant Hershey chocolate bar.
