UNION Graveside services for Wilbur Martin Butts will be held today at 11 a.m. at County Line Cemetery with the Revs. Warren Hedgepeth and family members officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Butts, 66, of Tunica, died Wednesday, April 9, 2003, in his home.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel Butts of Tunica; daughters, Rose Anthony of Bastrop,La. and Wilma Livingston of Dalton, Ga.; sons, Marty Butts of Florence and Dennis Butts of Richland; a brother, Bob Butts of Louisville; sisters, Margaret Guillory of Florence and Lorene Ethridge of Union; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; three step-children and six step-grandchildren.
Graveside services for Richard Dewayne Strickland will be held today at 2 p.m. at Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Scarbrough officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Strickland, 34, of Meridian, died Friday, April 11, 2003, in Meridian.
Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth Strickland of Meridian; a sister, Marian Inman and her husband, Shane, of West Point; nieces, Ashley and Sharron Inman; one nephew, Jeremy Pearson; cousins, Janice Dorman and her husband, Freddie, of Philadelphia,and their children, Kristen, Jessica, Amber Tippy, Sarah Dorman, Robert Strickland of Meridian and his child, Dylan Strickland, Jennifer Tidwell and her husband, Ivan, of Meridian and their child, Frances Tidwell.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Strickland, sister, Aleshia Pearson, and a brother, James Everett Strickland.
Memorials may be made to North East Baptist Church.
BUTLER,Ala. Services for Frankie Golia Shirley will be held today at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Albert McMillion officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Shirley, 90, of Lisman, Ala., died Thursday, April 10, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines Corps.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Shirley of Lisman,Ala.; sons, David F. Shirley of Cuba, Ala., and Irvin M. Shirley of Harrisburg, N.C.; daughters, Virginia Brown of Causeyville, Sarah Irene Shirley of Little Rock, Ark., and Mary Jane Lovelady of Montgomery,Ala.; brother, Martin V. Shirley and a sister, Louise Culpepper, both of Meridian; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Tims Shirley.
PHILADELPHIA Services for Hattie Taylor Hare will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Plattsburg Baptist Church with the Rev. William Bouchillon officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hare, 86, of Noxapater, died Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at Neshoba County Nursing Home in Philadelphia.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Barrett of Noxapater and a sister, Dollie Samuel of Noxapater; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today 4 p.m.- 9 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Services for Lis Anderson Clegg will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Phillip Wottrich officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Garden Cemetery.
Mrs. Clegg, 66, of Meridian, died Friday, April 11, 2003, at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.
Visitation will be Monday 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
MANDEVILLE,La. Funeral services for Zelma Galyean Fink were held March 22, 2003, at Schoen Funeral Home in Covington, La. Burial was held in Mandeville Cemetery.
Mrs. Fink,82, of Mandeville, formerly of Meridian, died March 19, 2003, in Mandeville. She was a resident of Mandeville for more than 43 years, and was retired as secretary for Mandeville Elementary School. A member of First Baptist Church in Mandeville. She was a graduate of Clarkdale High School and East Mississippi Junior College.
Survivors include her daughter, Phylis Fink Burke of Coral Springs, Fla.; a son, William Max Fink of Mandeville,La.; sisters, Elsie Harbour of Meridian, Rita McCanlis of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., and Doris Sowers of Quitman; a brother, Aubrey Galyean of Meridian; and three grandchildren, all of Coral Springs, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Phil Fink.
Arrangements were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for Mose Bailey, of Meridian, who died Thursday, April 10, 2003, at Riley Hospital.
