Quitman man killed in school bus accident

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating an accident in Clarke County between a pick-up truck and a school bus that claimed one life.
The accident occurred Monday about 7 a.m. on Highway 512, about 5 miles west of Quitman.
Howard Lucas was pronounced dead at the scene after the front of his pick-up truck collided with the back of a Quitman School District bus. Clarke County Coroner L.G. Wright Jr. said Lucas died of massive head injuries.
Sgt. Ronnie Carter, an MHP spokesman, said four passengers on the bus and the bus driver were transported to a local hospital and treated for "minor injuries."
