NEWTON Services for Frances F. McBeath will be held today at 11 a.m. at Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Charles Douglas officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Cemetery.
Mrs. McBeath, 79, of Newton, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at Bedford Nursing Care of Newton. She was a retired secretary for East Central Planning and Development.
A native of Newton County, Mrs. McBeath was a member of Newton Presbyterian Church, and a devoted mother and grandmother.
Survivors include a son, Ken and is wife, Brenda Jones McBeath, of Brandon; and four grandchildren, Lindslay McBeath Baw, Laura Catherine McBeath, William Kennon McBeath III and Mary Rachel McBeath, all of Brandon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Kennon McBeath Sr. and her parents, Herbert and Lucille Harris Freeman.
Pallbearers will be Wilmer Whittle, Doug Whittle, Fred Carlson, Paul McCormick, Bill Freeman Jr. and Ronnie Norman.
Visitation will be today from 8 a.m. until service time at the chapel.
PHILADELPHIA Services for Ollie H. "Bud" Benson will be held today at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Mat Clark officiating. Burial will be in Damascus Cemetery in Walnut Grove.
Mr. Benson, 76, of Walnut Grove, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at Leake Memorial Hospital in Carthage. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice Benson of Walnut Grove; sons, Tony Benson and Timothy Benson, both of Lovington, N.M.; step-daughters, Ann Walker of Baton Rouge, La., Nita Winters of Philadelphia and Faye Butler of Walnut Grove; step-sons, Walter Killen of Sebastopol, Larry Killen of Decatur, Gene Killen of Union and Jimmy Killen of Carthage; sisters, Katherine Harvey and Johnnie Ruth Holley, both of Philadelphia and Mary Glass of Orange Beach, Ala., and a brother, W.G. Benson of Brandon.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dewight Benson.
DEKALB Graveside services for Robert Lee Richardson will be held today at 11 a.m. at Cedarlawn Cemetery with the Rev. Leon Ballard officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Richardson, 63, of Scooba, died Thursday, March 27, 2003, at Riley Hospital. He loved to raise Tennessee Walking horses and was a retired logger.
Survivors include his wife, Undine Richardson; a daughter, Deana Cordar and her husband, Jeff; a son, Hugh Richardson and his wife, Angela; grandchildren, Samantha Richardson, Taylor Richardson, Tyler Reid and Matthew Cordar, all of Scooba; and a brother, Herndon Richardson of Hattiesburg.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Jones, Doug Reid, Ben Williams, Glenn Williams, Jason Moore and Rusty Powell.
QUITMAN Services for John "J.W." Treadwell will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Willie Jefferson officiating. Burial will be in Musgrove Cemetery.
Mr. Treadwell, 73, of Stonewall, died Monday, March 24, 2003, in his home.
Survivors include his nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.- 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services for Emma Lee Marshall Miller will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kevin Carter officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery. Latimer Metropolitan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Miller, 70, of Meridian, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at Riley Hospital.
Suvivors include her sons, Edward Miller and Earnest Miller, both of Meridian, Charles Miller of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Hubert Miller of Decatur; daughters, Mary Miller Morrow and Alisha Miller, both of Meridian; a special niece, Emma McCurdy of Forest; sisters, Anna Jean Bullock of Fresno, Calif., and Willie Mae Alford of Meridian; a brother, Eunice Marshall of Fresno, Calif.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 2 p.m.- 7 p.m. at the funeral home with family hour from 7 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Graveside services for the Rev. Perrin H. Cook will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Center Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Gus Merritt officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The Rev. Cook, 81, of DeKalb, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at his residence following a long illness.
He was a graduate of Baylor University, Waco, Texas, and Southern Seminary, Louisville, Ky. Cook pastored churches in Harrodsburg, Hickman and Wheelwright, Ky., Mobile, Gulfport and Atlanta. In 1969, Cook became a missionary for the American Board of Missions to the Jews and later the Christian Jew Foundation in Atlanta.
In his later years, Cook returned to the community of his loving wife, Mildred, and pastored Center Ridge Baptist Church, outside of DeKalb, and authored the book "Bible Facts," published in 1999.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mildred Sanders Cook of DeKalb, who was also his lifelong partner in the ministry; three sons, Theodore and his wife, Kathy, of Floresville, Texas, John Chester and his wife, Ruth, of Delute, Ga., and the Rev. George Wayne and his wife, Regi, of Pigeon Forge, Tenn.; a daughter, Mary Catherine Cook Limmer and her husband, Mark, of Lilburn, Ga.; six grandchildren: Amy Cook Robbins and her husband, Jeff, Laura Cook Best and her husband, Brandon, Allison Cook Kirby and her husband, Kenny, Sullivan and Taylor Cook and Christin Hope Limmer; a sister, Winifred Cook Carver and her husband, Herbert; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
