United Way hosts 2003 annual meeting

Betty Lou Jones will take over as chairman of the board of United Way of East Mississippi next week.
The 2003 United Way Annual Meeting will be Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Kalhmus Auditorium at Mississippi State University-Meridian Campus.
The annual meeting is held to officially elect new board members for the organization. Joel Johnson, out-going United Way board chairman, said the past year has been busy and rewarding.
Local United Way President Louis Sutton, Jr. encouraged all contributors to attend the meeting.
Jones has served as campaign chairman of the local United Way chapter for the past year. This year's campaign earned $685,000 toward a goal $800,000.
Tickets to the meeting are $12.50 each, or $100 for a table of eight. Tickets will be available at the door. For reserved seats or a table, call 693-2732.
