Truck driver
Services for James "Snag" Laster, Jr. will be held today at noon at E.E. McDonald Community Chapel with Dr. S.L. Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Daleville Cemetery in Daleville.
Mr. Laster, 51, of Meridian, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was employed as a truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Myra Foster, of Meridian, a daughter, Angela Roach of Belzonie, three sons, Eric Foster, Jamison Laster and Martez, all of Meridian, two sisters, Joyce and Annette Tyuse of Meridian, a brother, Al Gene Tyuse and his wife, Sabrina, of St. Louis, a sister-in-law, Amanda Foster of Monroe, La., several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two children.
NATHANIEL E. REED
YORK, Ala. Services for Nathaniel E. Reed will be held today at 1 p.m. at Brewersville Methodist Church with the Rev. Tim Meadows officiating. Burial will be in Brewersville Cemetery with Bumpers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Reed, 74, of Livingston, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, Miss. He was employed by Livingston University and he served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Violet Murphy Reed; two daughters, Sarah Akin and her husband John of Birmingham, and Teresa P. Reed of Jacksonville; and three grandchildren, Catherine, Michael and Laurie.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nathaniel Reed Sr. and his mother, Beulah Henson Reed.
Pallbearers will be Wallace Vaughn, Blake Vaughn, Max Larkin, III; Asa Green, Glen Bridges, Glen Sanders, Joseph Milner Reed and Paul Reed Sparkman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Sparkman, John Craiger, Richard Thurn and the men of the Coatopa Union church.

Visitation will be held today from 1p.m.-2 p.m. at Brewersville Methodist Church.

Services for Joyce Duett will be held today at 2 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Keith Grubbs officiating. Burial will be in Hamrick Cemetery.
Mrs. Duett, 73, of Meridian, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband Fred Duett of Meridian; two daughters, Sharon Roundtree of Meridian and Gwen Dillingham of Chicago; three sons, Lex Duett of Madison, William Walker Duett and Mark Duett, both of Meridian; three sisters, Charlotte Byrd of Vicksburg, Carolyn Calvert of Meridianville, Ala., and Diane Warnock of Vicksburg; two brothers, Robert Walker of Panama City Beach, Fla., and Walter Kenny Walker of Vernon, Fla.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
