Mr. and Mrs. John P. Davis Jr. of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Monica Renee, to Christopher Ross Tingle, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ross F. Tingle Jr. of Meridian.
The wedding will be Saturday, March 8, 2003, at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Meridian.
Miss Davis is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Foster Trawick of Butler, Ala., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Payne of Meridian.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Northeast Lauderdale High School and will receive her degree in special education from the University of Southern Mississippi in May.
Mr. Tingle is the grandson of Mae Carol Leach of Meridian and the late James R. Leach, Mr. and Mrs. Ross F. Tingle Sr. of Meridian and the late Hazel Tingle.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Meridian High School and received a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Alabama. He received his master's degree from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Mr. Tingle is employed by the University of Southern Mississippi, where he is currently pursuing his doctorate in history.
A reception will be held at Merrehope following the ceremony.
