Services for Ella V. Mabry will be held today at 11 a.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Boles officiating. Burial will be in Stinson Cemetery.
Mrs. Mabry, 80, of Meridian, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include her daughters, Gloria Wood and Dottie McCoy, both of Meridian; four grandchildren, Michelle Welch, Kevin Bryant, Alana Jones and Joshua Jones and four great-grandchildren, Amber Culpepper, Abby Culpepper, Londyn Bryant and Devin Welch.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Mabry; her parents, James and Daisy Nester and six brothers.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
IVA V. STEELE
Services for Iva V. Steele will be held today at 11 a.m. at Carmel Baptist Church, with Rev. Bill Webb officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Steele, 84, of Meridian died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at Rush Hospital. She was a member of Carmel Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She was retired from Freuhauf, and Meridian Manufacturing Company. She was a devoted wife and mother.
Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Jesse Steele of Meridian; three sons, Billy G. Hastings and his wife, Shirley, of Meridian, Wayne Hastings and his wife, Anita, of Laurel, and David M. Steele and his wife, Kim, of Miami; a daughter, Thelma Harris of Pottsbour, Texas; a brother Lester White and his wife, Peggy, of Meridian; 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, two great great great grandchildren; two step sisters, Ruby Reece and Mary Boswell, both of Meridian; one sister-in-law, Lessie Morgan of Meridian; a special friend Sherry Steele of Pensacola, Fla.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Benjamin Stephen White and Jewell White Johnson and two brothers Maurice White and Rayborn White.
The family requests memorials be made the American Heart Association.
Pallbearers will be Joe Wilkerson, Larry Whitehead, Fred Bean, John Flannagan, George Taylor and Ricky Reece.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. and 30 minutes prior to the service.

Truck driver for West Bank Containers
HEIDELBERG Services for George W. "Sweet Baby," "Out-Law" Barnett will be held today at noon at John the Baptist Church in Barnett with the Revs. Cornelius McDonald and Curtis Walker officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Gilmore's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Barnett, 59, of New Orleans, formerly of Vossburg, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at Covington County Hospital in Collins. He was educated in Jasper County at Heidelberg High School. He lived in New Orleans, for the past 40 years and was employed as a truck diver for West Bank Containers.
Survivors include his wife, Sallie Barnett; mother, Cora Walker; a daughter, Tillery Barard and her husband, Cary Sr.; a goddaughter, Trichell Lewis, all of New Orleans; a brother, Mack Barnett, of Meridian; granddaughter, Akerigon Barard; grandsons, Bryceston Barard and Cary Barard Jr.; nine sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law and several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be today at the church from 11:00 a.m.- 11:55 a.m.

MORTON Services for Fred A. Moore will be held today at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Springfield Cemetery with Ott &Lee Funeral Home, Inc. in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Moore, 85, of Morton, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003 at Claiborne County Nursing Home at Port Gibson.
NELSON MORTON
MACON Services for Nelson Morton will be held today at 2 p.m. at Westside Baptist Church with the Rev. Sterling Davis officiating. Burial will be in Old Union Church Cemetery in Shannon. Cockrell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Nelson, 71, of Macon, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus.
Survivors include his sister, Margaret Ann Reed of Detroit, Mich.; a brother, Dennis Morton of Vernon, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and three sisters.

DEKALB Services for Jessie "Sonny" Sheffield will be held today at 2 p.m. at E.E. McDonald Community Chapel in Meridian with the Rev. E.E. McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Gilfield Church Cemetery in Pushmataha, Ala.
Mr. Sheffield, 53, of Meridian, died, Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, in his home.
Survivors include his children, Tony Sheffield, Kimberly Mayhand, and Darolyn Hubbard, all of Meridian; 10 grandchildren; his mother, Mary Sheffield of Meridian; five brothers, Benny Sheffield of Flint, Mich., Charles Sheffield of Las Vegas, Leo Sheffield of Emelle, Ala., Leon and Chris Sheffield, both of Meridian; three sisters, Eve Sheffield and Teresa Ward, both of Meridian, and Janice Sheffield of Lucedale; several aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
