Texas men arrested on drug charges

Two Texas men remained in the Lauderdale County jail today after Mississippi transportation authorities arrested them Tuesday for possession of more than 600 pounds of marijuana.
Lauderdale County jail records show Victor H. Moreno, 28, 403 S. 13th St., Carrizo Springs, and Enrique Moreno, 31, 100 S. Adams St., Mission, as charged with possession with intent to distribute more than a kilo of marijuana. No bond had been set for the two, jail clerks said.
A Mississippi Department of Transportation officer who was at the jail today said the two men were arrested after being stopped at about 3:45 p.m. for a routine truck inspection on Interstate 20/59. The officer declined to give his name but said he expected officials would provide more information later.
