Services for Johnny Stewart Jr. will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Dillon officiating. Burial will be in the Stewart Family Cemetery in Lauderdale County.
Mr. Stewart, 35, of Meridian, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, in his home.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Stewart of Meridian; two sons, Steven Stewart and John Stewart, both of Meridian; a step-daughter, Heather Anders of Meridian; his father, John Stewart Sr. of Meridian; three sisters, Betty Ruth Lopp of Palaski, Tenn., Patricia Durham of Newton, Ala., and Dorinda Cooke of Cornersville, Tenn.; and his grandmother, Myrtle Hutchinson of Dresden, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Stewart; and his mother, Bonnie Stewart.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Nannie P. Banks
PHILADELPHIA Services for Nannie P. Banks will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Lavelle Woodrick officiating. Burial will be in Cedarlawn Cemetery in Philadelphia.
Mrs. Banks, 100, of Gonzales, La., died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003, at IHS Nursing Home in Gonzales. She was a resident of Gonzales for the past 14 years, a native of Neshoba County and a longtime resident of Philadelphia. She would have been 101 years old on March 8, 2003.
Survivors include her sons, Sharp Banks and his wife, Winnie, of Vicksburg and Harry Glen Banks and his wife, Ann, of Philadelphia; a daughter, Sharron Lynn Savell and her husband, Larry, of Gonzales; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons: Denis Taylor, Tim Perdue, Greg Savell, Shelton Destrefford, Shawn Burton, Chris Perdue, Bryan Jones, Branden Taylor and Austin Taylor.
Visitation will be Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.
Verna Mae Hodgins Townsend Shock
Retired bookkeeper
Services for Verna Mae Hodgins Townsend Shock will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Dewease officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Cemetery in Jackson.
Mrs. Shock, 87, of Enterprise, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Meredith B. Lee
JACKSON Memorial services for Meredith B. Lee will be held at a later date. Mark Seepe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Infant Lee died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002, at the University Medical Center in Jackson.
Survivors include her parents, Gary W. and Jan Hasting Lee, a sister, Marissa Lee, and her maternal grandparents, Billy and Shirley Hasting, all of Meridian; her paternal grandfather, Leonard Lee of Decatur; aunts and uncles, Mike and Cindy Lee of Philadelphia, Wesley and Julie Alphin, Terry Hasting of Meridian, and Mike and Geri Jilcott of Winston Salem, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Elizabeth Lee.
