Clarkdale slips by Scott Central

Dannielle Gaddis scored 10 points in the final quarter to lead Clarkdale over Scott Central in a close game 38-34.
Gaddis finished the game with 21 points and 16 rebounds. Felicia Kirksey made two huge assists that set up the 10-4 run while JorD'an Orr made the most of her game by scoring some key points up the middle.
Scott Central was led by Elyse Clay with 14 points and Quarnitia Murray had 10.
In the second game the Clarkdale boys were outscored 19-3 in the third period by Scott Central to lose 77-44.
MacHandy Bobbitt made four three-pointers to lead Scott Central with 22 points.

Early on both teams couldn't get things going. Clarkdale's Gaddis went to the line three times making three points to finish with nine points in the first period.
Clay scored six for Scott Central in the first to preserve a lead of 14-9.
Scott Central struggled to score by only getting six points in the second period also. Clay made a contribution again this time with four points. The Rebels had the slight advantage going into halftime leading Clarkdale 19-15.
The third quarter wasn't to friendly the either teams. Clarkdale managed to put up only five points and Scott Central added six.
In the fourth, Clarkdale found its rhythm behind Gaddis with the help of Kirksey who scored four quick points. Misti Alexander made a jumper with 6:44 left to give Clarkdale its first lead since the first period 26-24.
Scott Central countered back with 3:05 on the clock with a three-pointer by Clay to get the lead back 31-30.
Orr fueled Clarkdale by going up the middle to get the lead back. Hales took notice by gathering up her own rebound to make the score 34-31 with 2:20 left in the game.
The Lady Rebels got a nice shot from Quarnitra Murray to pull Clarkdale's lead to one at 34-33 with 1:47 remaining.
Gaddis sealed the victory with 1:25 left that increased the lead while Scott Central finished out the game going one of three from the free throw line. Clarkdale boxed out the Rebels down the stretch to hold on for the win.
The Lady Bulldogs are now 6-5 and will play at Newton on Friday.

Clarkdale made a run early in the game with strong hustle by Brandon Mabry. Mabry led the Bulldogs with 12 points,and he hit two three-pointers.
Scott Central held up its end with outstanding play by Bobbitt who scored three times from three-point range one coming with 22 seconds left in the first period.
Clarkdale scored with 11 seconds left on a nice shot by Rocky Kirksey to put the game at 16-14 with Scott Central leading after the first period.
Clarkdale stayed close but tough defensive play by Jeromy Williams and Bobbitt kept the Bulldogs off stride.
Mabry kept his team alive with a huge three-pointer, also he came back down court scoring over two defenders to cut the Rebels led to nine at 34-25 with 1:28 left in the second period.
Scott Central led 34-26 going into the third period. They kept putting pressure on Clarkdale to force the turnovers.
Nate McKee and Courtney McClendon helped led the team on a 16-0 run that ended on a three-pointer by McClendon with 1:27 left in the third.
Clarkdale never found the handle as the Scott Central defense proved to be to tough to finish out the game outscoring the Bulldogs 24-11 in the fourth period.
Clarkdale record falls to 4-7 the next game will be at Newton this Friday.
