STELLA M. YOUNG
Retired sales clerk
Graveside services for Stella M. Young will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Enterprise Cemetery with the Rev. Roy Dabbs officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Young, 92, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at Riley Memorial Hospital. She was a retired sales clerk and a member of Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Christine Nix and her husband, John, both of Meridian, and Cathlen Swanner of Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley Young; and four brothers, Charley Mason, Monroe Mason, Milton Mason and Orlando Mason.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
ODALE CLEARMAN
Retired shipping clerk
Graveside services for Odale Clearman will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with the Revs. Buck Hall and Paul Clements officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Clearman, 93, of Meridian, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at his residence. He was a retired shipping clerk with Corr-Williams Tobacco Co. He was a member of Meridian Church of Christ, located on Highway 19 North.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Clearman of Meridian; a daughter, Sylvia Hall of Hattiesburg; a brother, X.L. Clearman of Fontana, Calif.; four grandchildren, Irv Hall of Holly Springs, Mitzi and Jeff Hall of Meridian and Lesley Brown of Destin, Fla.; four great-grandchildren, Megan Drennan, Dustin Hall and Kelly Hall, all of Meridian, and Jordon Brown of Destin, Fla.
Visitation will be today from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dwight Collins, Irv Hall, Jeff Hall, Jack Mears, Jay Simpson, Tom Fair and Eddie Johnson.
ALVERA SPEIER BROWN

DULUTH, Ga. Services for Alvera Speier Brown will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Catholic Church of Saint Monica with the Revs. Greg Goolsby and Stewart Wilbur officiating. Burial will be in Peachtree Memorial Park in Norcross, Ga., with Bill Head Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Brown, 70, of Suwanee, Ga., and a former Meridian resident, died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at her home. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Brown graduated from Sacred Heart Academy High School in Wichita, Kan., and attended Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kan. She was a Catholic and a founding member of the Catholic Church of Saint Monica.
Survivors include her husband, Christian G. Brown; sons and daughters- in-laws, Bradley J. and Susan Brown, Brent A. and Karen Brown, Byron P. and Faith Brown and Barry C. and Janice Brown; 11 grandchildren, Kyle, Evan, Monica, Melissa, Christina, Andrew, Jason, Montana, Megan, Ashley and Nicole; and three nephews, Gerald, James Steven and Bruce Speier, all of Topeka, Kan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Monica Dechant Speier of Hays, Kan., and brother Marvin J. Speier of Topeka, Kan.
Visitation is Monday from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the church, with a rosary to be said at 7:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Catholic Church of Saint Monica Building Fund.
JAMES C. SMITH
Services for James C. Smith will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mr. Smith, 84, died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will be Monday from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
