BILLY WAYNE LEWIS
Services for Billy Wayne Lewis will be held Monday at 3 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Keith Thrash, Roy Dabbs and Jason Gross officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Lewis, 45, of Meridian, died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, in his home. He was employed with Lewis Wrecker Service.
Survivors include his wife Jessica Lewis, a son, Trinity Lewis, a daughter, Brittney Lewis, his mother, Wanda Lewis, two brothers, Glen Lewis and his wife, Erin, and Terry Lewis, an aunt, Gwen Trash, an uncle, Paul Thrash and his wife, Eloise, all of Meridian; and several nieces, nephews and a cousin.
He was preceded in death by his father, William A. "Bill" Lewis.
Pallbearers will be David Boyd, Ralph Fortenberry , Greg Gilbert, Homer Roberts, Ricky Roberts, Randy Thompson, Scott Trash and Stan Windham.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
OLA J. JONES
Factory worker
DEKALB Services for Ola J. Jones will be held today at 2 p.m. at Jerusalem Temple in Philadelphia, with the Rev. Jimmy Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Donald Rest Cemetery in Philadelphia. E.E. McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Jones, 68, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, Aug. 6 2002, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian. She was employed as a factory worker.
Survivors include three children, Robert Lee Jones, of Chicago, Dorothy Y. Jones, of Smyrna, Ga., and Rodney J. Jones, of Philadelphia; a brother, Holly Clark and his wife, Lucille, of Chicago; two sisters, Marthis Riddle and her husband, Willie J., of Philadelphia, and Dorothy Clark of Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a sibling.
Visitation will be held today from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the church.
MYRAM H. MCILWAIN
Retired Welfare Department employee
Graveside services for Myram H. McIlwain will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Edgar Cemetery in Silas, Ala. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. McIlwain, 84, of Meridian, died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
She was a retired employee of the Lauderdale County Welfare Department. And a member of Highland United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her two sons, David McIlwain and his wife, Faye, of Meridian, and J. Wiley McIlwain and his wife, Tammy, of Riviera, Texas; a daughter, Mary Sue Hazlewood and her husband, Michael, of Cordova, Tenn.; grandchildren Chris McIlwain and his wife Dee, Michael S. Hazelwood and Mary Beth Hazelwood, Stephanie McIlwain; and a sister, Mildred Kard of San Antonio, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David I. McIlwain Sr.
Pallbearers will be her family.
Visitation will be held today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
SARAH HELEN MCCARTY
QUITMAN Services for Sarah Helen McCarty will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at McGowan Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. George Pugh officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. McCarty, 88, of the Harmony Community of Clarke County died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital.
She was an executive secretary for more than 40 years for Entergy Corps. of New Orleans and an active member of McGowan Chapel Methodist Church where in the past she served as a board member and as treasurer. She was a former governor of Pilot International of the State of Louisiana.
Survivors include her two sisters, Mrs. Mary Beverly McCarty Walker and Mrs. Ruth McCarty Kean, both of Hattiesburg; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Allen and Beverly McCarty.
Pallbearers will be her nephews William A. McCarty, of Amarillo, Texas; Charles Gerald McCarty of Covington, La.; Robert McCarty of Witchita Falls, Texas; David E. Kean of Hattiesburg; W. Sterling Kean of New Orleans, Texas; Alan McCarty of Anniston, Ala.; John McCarty of Oklahoma City; Michael McCarty of Little Rock, Ark.; Daniel McCarty of Aspen, Colo.; and James McCarty of Belton, Texas.
Memorials may be made to McGowan United Methodist Church c/o Lois Broadway, Quitman.
Visitation will be held after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
TERRY DON PARKES
Truck driver
Graveside services for Terry Don Parkes were held Saturday at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Jackie Strebeck officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Parkes, 54, of Collinsville, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002, in his home.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Parkes; sons, Randy Parkes of Fredericksburg, Va., and Adam Parkes of Meridian; a step-daughter, Leslie Goins, of Collinsville; step-sons, Tom Goins of Bailey and Jason Herman of Hot Springs, Ark; five grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Ashley of Collinsville; brothers, Perry Parkes of Colorado Springs, Colo, and Dempsey Parkes, of Suqualena; and several nieces and nephews.
