A Newton County woman was being treated in a Jackson hospital today after she was seriously injured in a one-car accident Monday night.
Dot Guthrie's Ford Ranger pick-up truck left the road on Highway 494 about two miles west of Little Rock about 7 p.m, officers said. Guthrie was taken to Laird's Hospital in Union before being air-lifted to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson for further treatment.
Earlier today, she was in the surgical immediate care unit at UMC. Further details of her condition were unavailable.
A deputy with the Newton County Sheriff's Department said a rain-slick road may have contributed to the accident.
