The Jimmie Rodgers Memorial Festival Golf Tournament was once again a success.
18 teams and 104 golfers gathered at Briarwood Country Club to participate in the 6-person scramble. The tournament raises money for the Jimmie Rodgers Memorial Festival.
The team of Judge Little, David Hopper, Glenn Taylor, Rob Bullock, Kent Daniels and coach Joe Lee Dunn took first place in the championship flight.
The team had 15 birdies and 3 eagles to shoot 21-under-par 51 on the 18 holes of play to take the championship.
Coach Dunn was one of the special guests to participate in the tournament and showed he can play some golf as he ended up on the winning team.
Coming in second in the championship flight was the team of Sabe Nicholson, Nate Williams, Chris Crowe, David Lusby, Todd Eldridge and Mac Barnes. The teams shot a 19-under-par 53.
Tim Hogan, Jacqueline Hogan, Kerry Goodwin, Landry Atkins, Kenny Ford, and Chuck Rea rounded out the top three of the championship group. They also shot a 19-under 53.
The tournament also was split into a first flight with the top three getting prizes.
Mike Johnson, Bruce Barham, Bob Barham, Jay Crane, Keith McKinion, and Martha Barham shot a 57 to take first in the first flight.
Harry Lackey, Sylvia Lackey, Robert Frazier, Leo Rawson, Joe Mabry and Hoot Gipson shot a 57 to finish second in the first flight.
A 58 was good enough to give Doug Thompson, Bubba Martin, Don Cagle, Danny Pressley, Andy Luckovich and Teresa May third in the first flight.
After the tournament golfers enjoyed food and door prizes were given away from some sponsors.
