Two accidents within two hours of each other Friday night kept law enforcement and emergency personnel busy.
The first accident closed one lane of Interstate 20/59 west, just west of the city, for about 45 minutes after a vehicle struck a guard rail at about 8 p.m. at the 150 mile-marker.
Details about the accident remained sketchy late Friday, including whether anyone was injured in the crash or what might have caused the accident.
West-bound traffic returned to normal later Friday night.
Two hours after the I-20/59 accident, Meridian Police worked another one this time on Highway 11 South.
The two-car accident happened at about 10 p.m. in front of Stuckey's Express.
Details on that wreck also remained sketchy, but injuries were reported. MPD Cpl. William Brunelle said one of the vehicles apparently struck the other broadside.
