Man charged with aggravated assault

Steven W. Campbell, a 44-year-old homeless man, remained in custody today at the Lauderdale County Jail. He was charged with aggravated assault and is being held on a $20,000 bond.
Campbell was arrested after a fight at about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday at Clays Grocer &Meats on 5th Street and 45th Avenue, according to Detective Deano Harper of the Meridian Police Department.
Police would not release the name of the injured subject who was cut, treated at a local hospital and released.
