Meridian police are looking for a man who robbed the Super 8 Motel at gunpoint late Wednesday afternoon.
Det. Deano Harper, police spokesperson, said a young black man entered the motel office just before police were called at 5:12 p.m. and displayed a shotgun to the office staff. The man escaped with an undisclosed amount of money.
Harper said witnesses described the man as wearing blue jeans and a white t-shirt; his age was estimated between 18 and 25. Harper said there were no shots fired or injuries reported.
The investigation is still under way, Harper said.
Wednesday's robbery is the sixth of the year and the
second of this month, Harper said. One robbery was reported last month and three in January. There were 124 robberies last year in Meridian.
