GEORGE HILYARD THOMAS
Retired mail carrier
NEWTON Services for George Hilyard Thomas were to be held today at 10 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Frank Harmon officiating. Burial was to be in Newton Masonic Cemetery.
Mr. Thomas, 81, of Newton, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, in his home. He served more than 25 years as a mail carrier from the Newton Post Office. He was a member of the Newton Volunteer Fire Department form 1949-1984.
Survivors include a daughter, Kay Crenshaw and her husband, Howard, and a granddaughter, Leslie Crenshaw, all of Newton; two sisters, Edith Herring of Petal and Jennie Everett of Newton.
The family requests memorials be made to Southern Care Hospice, 109 School St., Newton, MS 39345.
Pallbearers will be Bill Hand, Billy Chaney, Sam Waggoner, Mike Strebeck, Ray Gibson and Charles Vance.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Berean Sunday School Class.
WALTER WELCH MAIDEN

Graveside services for Walter Welch "Bud" Maiden will be held today at 11:30 a.m. at Christopher Chapel Methodist Cemetery in Jachin, Ala. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Maiden, 92, of Collinsville, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Collinsville and a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include six nieces, Nancy Hand of Collinsville, Hattie Thames of Loxley, Ala., Bettie Stephens of Daphne, Ala., Marjorie Ryals of Elberta, Ala., Peggy Curtis of Fairhope, Ala., and Jane Anderton of Daphne; a nephew, Frankie R. Griffis Jr. of Maryland; and a sister-in-law, Mary Maiden of Collinsville.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Griffis; and a brother, Ambrose Flynt Maiden.
The family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Collinsville.
DUVIS ANNIE RUTH LUKE

PHILADELPHIA Services for Duvis Annie Ruth Luke will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Revs. Brown Barrier and Tony Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Henry's Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Luke, 81, of Philadelphia, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001, at Hospice in His Hand in Madden.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary A. Johnson, a son, Tommy E. Luke and a brother, Buddy Fain, all of Philadelphia; a sister, Lois Sartin of Jackson; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
ROBERT GLENN FULLER
James River Corp. maintenance mechanic
BUTLER, Ala. Services for Robert Glenn "Spook" Fuller will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Bumpers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Phillip Wottrich officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Fuller, 68, of Butler, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Lyman Fuller of Butler; two sons, Jeff Fuller and his wife, Donna, of Butler and Donald "Pat" Fuller of Woodbridge, Va.; a brother, Jerome Fuller of Green Bay, Wis.; five sisters, Virginia Chapel of Tucson, Ariz., Gennie Hansson of Modesto, Calif., Jeanette Prue of Mariposa, Calif., Charlotte Befay of Lillian, Ala., and Sue Thompson of Tomahawk, Wis.; and two granddaughters.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arrangements were incomplete at Stephens Funeral Home for Agnes M. Garrett who died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
