QUITMAN Services for Jeff David Colston will be held today at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Dennis Kennedy and Gary Gilstrap officiating. Burial will be in Old Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Colston, 64, of Quitman, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Lynn Colston of Quitman; three sons, William David Colston of Stone Mountain, Ga., Robert Lee Colston and John Lucas, both of Quitman; five daughters, Mary Ann Michael of Birmingham, Ala., Melanie Lynn Hammrick of Newton, Dianna Briggs of Scooba, Elaine Wolfe of Smiths Grove, Ky. and Kathy Richardson of Stonewall; 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

NEWTON Services for Allie Little Walker will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Poncey officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Walker, 95, of Newton, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001, at Newton Regional Hospital. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, James Walker and his wife, Polly, of Rose Hill, Alton Walker and his wife, Shelby, of Harlem, Ga., and Dan Walker and his wife, Nita, of Newton; a daughter, Ouida Powell and her husband, Walter, of Meridian; two brothers, Claude Little and Clyde Little of Enterprise; a brother-in-law, Emmit Walker of Newton; eight grandchildren, one step-grandchild, one step-great-grandson and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, B.C. Walker; a daughter, Anita Walker; and her parents, Bill and Della Little.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

GILBERTOWN, Ala. Services for John Wyman Lassiter Jr. will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Cullomburg Baptist Church with the Rev. Sonny Hoven officiating. Burial will be in Cullomburg Cemetery with Phillips Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Lassiter, 84, a life-long resident of Cullomburg, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001, at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. Mr. Lassiter was a member of Cullomburg Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners.
After attending the University of Alabama, he returned home to work with his father and brother in the family business, J.W. Lassiter Lumber Company, which was founded by his father and mother in 1912.
Mr. Lassiter served as president of J.W. Lassiter Lumber Company and Lassiter Land Company until his death.
Survivors include his wife, of 53 years, Jean Lambert Lassiter; three children and their families, a daughter, Wanda L. Kesling, her spouse, Gene, their children, Josh and Kindle; a son, John W. Lassiter III, his wife, Cynthia Carpenter, their daughter's, Jennifer and Holly, Jennifer's husband, Eric Copeland and their daughters, Bree and Faith; a son, J. Dwain Lassiter and his wife, Bessie Richardson, their children, Jordan and Elizabeth; and several nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. Lassiter Sr. and Bessie Jordan Lassiter; a sister, Voncille Lassiter Thigpen; and a brother, H.J. "Tobe" Lassiter.
The family requests memorials be made to Cullomburg Cemetery Fund, c/o Jean Mosley, 758 Lassiter Rd., Cullomburg, AL 36919.
Pallbearers will be the deacons of Cullomburg Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church.
WALTER B. WRIGHT
Services for Walter B. Wright will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Wright, of Lisman, Ala., died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, at Heartfelt Hospice.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
