Local residents proud to serve in armed forces

Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Amanda K. Adcock has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the U.S. Air Force mission, organization and customs, and received special training in human relations.
Airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate's degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Adcock is the daughter of Scott and Vicki Adcock of Meridian, and a 2001 graduate of Clarkdale Attendance Center.
Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Winton F. Beaver has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

Beaver is the son of Linda Beaver and grandson of Margaret Pace, both of Meridian. He is a 2000 graduate of Meridian High School.

Graham is the son of Donald and Barbara Graham of Meridian, and a 2000 graduate of Southeast Lauderdale High School.
Navy Seaman Renoada A. Hardy, a 1998 graduate of Newton High School, recently visited Rhodes, Greece, during a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea and Arabian Gulf. She is assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise, homeported in Norfolk, Va.
