Applications deadline nears for youth talent show

Anyone interested in competing in the first Queen City Youth Talent Competition must submit entry forms by Sept. 24, about two weeks before the Oct. 6 event.
The talent show will be a featured attraction at the Queen City State Fair, set to run Oct. 1 through 7 at the at the Lauderdale County Agri-Center.
Educational savings bonds have been made available from Union Planters Bank, AmSouth, Trustmark, Citizens National bank, Community Bank and BankPlus for the winners. Trophies and medals will go to the alternate winners.
Contestants will be divided into four groups, based on each person's age on the date of the competition.
Pee Wee: ages 3 to 6.
Junior: ages 7 to 10.
Teen-ager: ages 11 to 15.
Senior: ages 16 to 21.
Competitors must be of amateur status. All acts must be under three minutes. Any one overage will be disqualified.
The overall winners in each division will receive a $100 educational savings bond. The grand final winner of all four age divisions will receive a $200 savings bond.
