Dean, Spence

Mr. and Mrs. William Randall Briggs and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Anthony Dean, all of Meridian, announce the engagement of their daughter, Memori Leigh Dean, to Brian Scott Spence, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Scott Spence of Oxford.
The couple will exchange vows at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001, in the gardens of the historic Donnelly House and Gardens in Birmingham, Ala.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Ruthie Wilkins and the late Robert Lee Dean, and the late Virginia Greene, all of Meridian.
She is employed as a sales representative for Halo Industries Inc. of Chicago at the Birmingham branch.
The bridegroom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rowe Jr. of Salem, Va.; Ellen Akers Roman of Charlotte, N.C. and the late Sherman James Purcell.
Mr. Spence is a graduate of Trinity Presbyterian High School in Montgomery, Ala., and received a bachelor's degree in building construction from Auburn University. He is employed with Carothers Construction Co. Inc. of Water Valley as a project manager on completed projects in Destin, Fla. and Meridian. He is located in Birmingham.
A reception will be held following the ceremony.
