Coleman, Burks

Mr. and Mrs. Grady H. Coleman of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Leigh Anne, to Timothy Lee Burks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Noble L. Burks of Tremont.
The wedding will be held Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001, at 5 p.m. at Poplar Springs United Methodist Church.
Miss Coleman is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph W. Stafford of Quitman and the late Mr. and Mrs. L.M. Cherry of Meridian.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Meridian High School and received an undergraduate degree in elementary education from Mississippi State University. She received a master's degree in early childhood education from Troy State University in Phoenix City, Ala.
While attending MSU, she was a member of Mississippi Professional Educators, Kappa Delta Pi and the Southern Education Children's Association.
Miss Coleman is employed by the Tupelo Public Schools.
Mr. Burks is the grandson of Mrs. James E. Burks of Vina, Ala. and the late Mr. Burks; Mrs. Cecil F. Emerson of Vina and the late Mr. Emerson.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Tremont High School and received a degree in applied science in electronics from Itawamba Community College. He is self-employed.
A reception will be held at the church following the ceremony.
