OBITUARIES FOR THURSDAY, JUNE 14, 2001

MILDRED E. MARLATT
Retired telephone company employee
Services for Mildred E. Marlatt will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Druid Hills United Methodist Church with the Revs. Ed Sanders and Barry Skelton officiating. Burial will be in Ludlow Cemetery in Ludlow, Ill., on Sunday. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Marlatt, 81, of Meridian, died Monday, June 11, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital. She was a member of Druid Hills United Methodist Church and the Good Sams Travel Club. She worked for Illinois Bell and South Central Bell telephone companies.
Survivors include her husband, Wendell Marlatt of Meridian; two sons, Jon Marlatt of Dolton, Ill. and Fred Marlatt and his wife, Edith, of Concord, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Mathew and Malinda Marlatt, both of Concord.
The family requests memorials be made to Druid Hills United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
NANNIE S. THOMAS

Graveside services for Nannie S. Thomas will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Hayes Cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Thomas, 97, of Meridian, died Wednesday, June 13, 2001, at Azalea Health Care Center. She was a member of Long Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Thomas Rutledge, grandchildren, Donald Rutledge, Dianne Burton, Paula Joyner, Wayne Rutledge, Glen Rutledge, Mike Thomas, Richard Thomas and Sally Skipper, all of Meridian, and Teresa Jones, of Demopolis, Ala.; 12 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ollie Jean Russell; two sons, Warren and Elton Thomas; and a granddaughter, Nancy Reynolds.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
BILLY RAY JAMES
Mississippi Game and Fish Commission
Graveside services for Billy Ray James will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with the Revs. Ernie Nelson and Jason Gross officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. James, 49, of Collinsville, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church and a senior master sergeant in the Mississippi Air National Guard. Mr. James loved golfing, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and was a fan of the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
Survivors include his wife, Anne James and a daughter, Brittany Anne James, both of Collinsville; three sisters, Carolyn Warren and her husband, Hollis, and Jeannett Everett and her husband, David, all of Bailey, and Janice Darby and her husband, Cliff, of New Orleans; in-laws, Paul and Clara Swearingen and a sister-in-law, Renee Swearingen, all of Suqualena; a brother, Pete James and his wife, Becky, of Allen, Texas; and his special Boston Terrier, Purdy.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jason James and his father, Herbert James.
Pallbearers will be members of the Air National Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Game and Fish Commission.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home for Dorothy "Dottie" O. Rost, 91, of Meridian, who died Wednesday, June 13, 2001, in her home.
ALBERTA BRUNSON
Arrangements were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for Alberta Brunson, 80, of Meridian, who died Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at Guardian Angel Hospice.
