50th anniversary
Lucille and James Walters
The children of James and Lucille Walters will host a reception to honor their 50th anniversary on Saturday, June 16, 2001, from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. at the couple's home. The Walters have six children, Susan James, Thomas Walters, David Walters, Jeffrey Walters and Nancy Thompson, all of Meridian, and Raymond Walters of Oklahoma, and their spouses; 12 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. The couple were married June 17, 1951, in Massachusetts at Mattapan Baptist Church. Family and friends are invited to attend. The couple requests no gifts.
60th anniversary

Lavon and Evelyn Redmond of Stonewall
celebrated their 60th anniversary June 3, 2001, at Outback Steakhouse with their children, Larry and Johnny Redmond, both of Quitman, and Judy Howard and Kathy Kemp, both of Stonewall. Several of the couple's grandchildren also attended the dinner. The Redmonds have nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. They were married May 31, 1941, in Enterprise.
