Joiner, Goldman

Lee Nicole Goldman and Carlton Peter Joiner were united in marriage Saturday, April 21, 2001, at Poplar Springs Drive United Methodist Church. The candlelight ceremony was conducted by the Rev. David Hardy of Atlanta,Ga.
Parents of the couple are Shirley and Tom Goldman of Meridian and Mr. And Mrs. Tom Joiner of Atlanta.
The bride is the granddaughter of the late Pansy and Charles Dee Stokes and the late Mr. and Mrs. Sam Goldman.
The bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Bader and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene H. Joiner.
Music for the ceremony was presented by Barry Germany, pianist; and Courtney Riley Smith, soloist. A reading was given by Dorcas Worley Lushetsky.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a gown of white Duchess satin with Swaronski crystals. The scooped neckline was detailed with crystals and pearls and the Basque waistline repeats the pearl and crystals. The hemline had a double-row of crystals and pearls that edged the entire train. The skirt was soft pleated and the covered buttons flowed to miniature bows that streamed down the center back of the chapel-length train. Her satin headband covered with pearls held two tiers of elbow-length illusion.
Tracy Gregory, cousin of the bride, served as matron of honor. Other attendants were Jennifer Cadle Bradford of Austin, Texas, and Molly Marlett Clemmitt of Vienna, Va. Junior attendants were Shannon Waldron and Bonnie Randles.
Flower girl was Holly Stokes and ring bearer was Collin Joiner.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Desmond Joiner of Birmingham, Ala., David Joiner, Jeff Mixon, Doug Smith of Atlanta and Sam Goldman of Meridian.
Following the wedding, a reception was held at Briarwood Country Club.
On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal party was hosted by the parents of the couple at the home of the bride's parents.
After a honeymoon on the U.S. Virgin Island of St. Thomas, the couple resides in Atlanta.
Prior to her wedding, the bride was given several parties.
A bridal tea was given by Dorothy Rayner, Donna Hill, Judy Rayner, Annette Moore and Gayle Young. A wedding shower party was given for the couple in the home of Jo Lynn and Brett Shelton of Atlanta. Co-hosting the event were Kara Pratt and Jeff Wall. An engagement party honoring the couple was hosted by the bridegroom's parents at the Raddison Hotel at Northlake in Atlanta.
On the morning of the wedding, the bride was feted with a bridal brunch at the lake home of Mr. and Mrs. Lavelle Goldman. Hostesses for the party were Barbara Stokes, Pat Stokes, Tracy Gregory and Jean Goldman.
