Summer Leagues starting up

By By M.A. Copeland/Special To The Star
May 30, 2001
Well fans, the fall and winter leagues came to an end earlier this month and the new summer season is getting under way.
They went out with a bang as Tyrone McAlpine bowled a 300 on lanes 21 and 22. That was the only pair in the house that did not have one on them and now they are in, too.
Dixie Bowl has been closed for resurfacing last week so we have no high scores to report. Maybe we will get some good scores in the summer leagues that started Monday.
The Tuesday Mix Leagues started Tuesday at 6:30 p.m, with the Thursday Mix League starting at 7 p.m. Friday Mix getting under way at 6:30 p.m.
The news is short so I will close with a big thank you to all the league bowlers who bowled in the fall and winter seasons. We do have a few openings Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday for the coming season so if you know or see anyone that would like to bowl on any night, please get their phone to the lanes and we will contact them.
We have the winners out of each league in. I will have the plaques in soon. Until next week, pay us a visit and enjoy the great game of bowling.
