Long Beach evens series with MHS

LONG BEACH n Meridian saw Long Beach even their Class 5A first-round state playoff series with a 10-9 win Friday night.
A decisive third game is slated for 1 p.m. today at John Moss Field.
Meridian committed four errors in the first three innings as the Bearcats jumped out to an early lead.
John Iverson hit a grand slam homer for Meridian, 22-12, while Dione Hampton added three hits.
