Eagles whip Bevill State for win No. 30 of season

Meridian Community College's baseball team used the long ball Wednesday to earn its 30th victory of the season a 12-2 victory over homestanding Bevill (Ala.) State.
MCC hit four homers in the contest, including a pair of dingers by former Lamar School standout Robert Daggett.
Daggett was 2-for-2 with his third and fourth homers of the season.
Chad Bradley also had a big day for Meridian, as he banged out a 2-for-3 performance that included his first home run of the year.
Bradley's shot was a three-run dinger. He added a double and finished 2-for-3 with six RBIs.
Former Meridian High School standout Tyler Scarbrough, a freshman, was 2-for-3 with a double and a pair of stolen bases, while Ben Shannon was 1-for-2 on the day.
MCC's Adam Smith got the win on the hill, improving to 4-1.
The Eagles are now 30-11 overall.
Meridian is scheduled to return to action today, when the Eagles stay on the road with a doubleheader at Shelton State.
