    OBITUARIES FOR WEDNESDAY, JAN. 31, 2001

    BETTYE JO HERRINGTON BLACKWELL
    Services for Bettye Jo Herrington Blackwell will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Pine Grove Church with the Revs. Curtis Dyer, Wallace Terry and Kenny Pogue officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Blackwell, 68, of Collinsville, died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a loving mother and wife. She was a member of Pine Grove Church.
    Survivors include a daughter, Donna Jackson and her husband, Brent, of Collinsville; three sons, Hal Herrington and his wife, Tammy, and Tony Herrington and his wife, Wanda, all of Collinsville and Bernie Herrington and his wife, Pam, of Brandon; two stepdaughters, Mona Mayatt and her husband, Tom, of Quitman, and Pat Burnett and her husband, the Rev. Artie Burnett; two stepsons, Rick Blackwell and his wife, Kathy, of Meridian and Steve Blackwell and his wife, Carol Ann, of Meridian; three sisters, Bobbie Ethridge and Frances Skelton Brewer, both of Meridian and Nellie Herrington of Oneta, Ala.; a brother, A.J. "Bud" Lee of Meridian; seven grandchildren, a stepgrandchild and nine step-great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Burkett Herrington.
    Pallbearers will be Brent Jackson, Hal Herrington, Bernie Herrington, Tony Herrington, Michael Jackson and Matt Mayatt.
    Visitation will be today from 5-8 p.m. and Thursday beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
    MARY VIRGINIA WALL MCCAIN
    GILBERTOWN, Ala. Services for Mary Virginia Wall McCain will be held today at 2 p.m. at Millry Baptist Church with the Revs. Dennis Allen and Billy Kendricks officiating. Burial will be in Healing Springs Cemetery with Phillips Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. McCain, 82, of Millry, died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001, in Chatom.
    Survivors include three sons, John Val McCain of Millry, Jimmy McCain of Waynesboro, Miss. and Charles McCain of Sweetwater; three daughters, Jean O'Neal of Chatom, Dorothy Baughman of Silas and Dianne Allday of Hawthorn; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. McCain and three grandsons.
    Visitation will be today from 1-2 p.m. at the church.
    EARL LINFORD LEWIS
    Retired assistant principal
    QUITMAN Services for Earl Linford Lewis will be held today at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Mitchell McDonald and John Kramer officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery with Wright's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Lewis, 82, of Quitman, died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church. He served on the Lay Leader Chairman Board of Trustees, Jones County Junior College 1997-2001, JCJC Board for 28 years, past president for JCJC Alumni Association, and he was the past president for the Clarke County Alumni Association for Mississippi State University.
    Survivors include a son, Steven Smith Lewis of Boca Raton, Fla.; a daughter, Vicki Lynn Lewis Hammer of Brentwood, Tenn.; a brother, F. Gordon Lewis of Heidelberg; and two grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Mae Smith Lewis.
    The family requests memorials be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 137, Quitman, MS 39355 or JCJC Foundation, Earl and Nancy Lewis Memorial, 900 South Court St., Ellisville, MS 39437.
    Pallbearers will be Bolivae Lewis, William Earl Pender, Bobby Reynolds, Charlie Lewis, Tom Lewis, Frank Buchanan and Guilliam Graham.
    Honorary pallbearers will be the JCJC board of trustees.
    BARNIE BUTTS WINSTEAD

    PHILADELPHIA Services for Barnie Butts Winstead will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery with McClain-Hays Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Winstead, 80, of Union, died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001, at Laird Hospital in Union.
    Survivors include two daughters, Rachel Boler of Collinsville and Libby Harris of Union; two sons, Jerry M. Winstead and Paul E. Winstead, both of Union; two sisters, Lillian Butts of Union and Sarah Allgood of Terry; two brothers, Dub Butts of Union and Otto Butts of Chunky; 18 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Elton Winstead.
    Visitation will be today from 4-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
    ROBERT BLAKE ROBISON
    LAUREL Graveside services for Robert Blake Robison will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Lake Park Cemetery with the Revs. Ken Regan and Dr. Randall Turner officiating. Memory Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
    Infant Robison died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, at South Central Regional Medical Center.
    Survivors include his parents, Robert and Mandy Robison of Birmingham, Ala.; his grandparents, Wade and Wanda Jones of Meridian, Ron and Ann Polen of Laurel and Johnny and Becky Robison of Laurel, his aunts and uncles, Melody Polen, Neil Polen, Heather Gardner, Clay and Angie Robison and Kelley Robison, all of Laurel, Amanda Jones and Marshall Jones of Meridian; and several other relatives.
    He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, J. Dent Robison Sr. and his cousin, Macy Robison.
    The family requests memorials will be made to the Robert Blake Robison Memorials, First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 2636, Laurel, MS 39442 or Second Avenue Baptist Church, P.O. Box 986, Laurel, MS 39441.

    Arrangements were incomplete at E.E. McDonald Funeral Home for Marshall Lee Landrum III, 23, of Meridian, who died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital.

    Arrangements were incomplete at E.E. McDonald Funeral Home for Willie Thomas, 78, of Chicago, who died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001, at Hinds VA Hospital in Chicago.
    JAMES M. RED BRIGGS
    Arrangements were incomplete at Barham Funeral Home for James M. Red Briggs, 74, who died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
