Getting to know your neighbor

Editor’s Note: Getting to Know  Your Neighbor is a regular feature spotlighting residents in Franklin County and how they look at certain things.

Name: R. Justin Green

Hometown: Russellville

Place of employment: Russellville Fire Department

Q: What is the best thing about your job?
A: Helping others in their time of need.

Q: If you weren’t in your current profession, what would be your ideal job and why?
A: That’s a little tricky. I’m probably going to say an investment analyst.

Q: If you could change places with anyone for a day, who would it be and why?
A: Probably a professional skydiver. It would be great to be paid to skydive all over the world.

Q: If you could sit down to dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
A: My dad, I miss him every single day.

Q: What’s the best present you’ve ever received?
A: The best present I’ve ever received is one that I really haven’t received yet. My wife and I are expecting our first child in December.

Q: What is your favorite childhood memory?
A: Just playing outside and not having a single care in the world.

Q: What do you think of as your greatest accomplishment in life?
A: Giving my life to God.

Q: If you only had one meal left, what would it be?
A: Kraut and hotdogs, mac and cheese and fried ‘taters.

Q: If you won a million dollars, what would be your first purchase?
A: After I paid off our debt and built my wife a sunroom, I would buy myself a new kayak. I really enjoy being outdoors.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
A: I would love to visit Alaska and go kayaking, hiking, and camping there.

Q: If you were the President of the United States, what would be the first law that you would enact?
A: Repeal ObamaCare!

Q: If you were in local government, what things would you change in the area?
A: Well I think I would start with trying to bring industry into the area. I would also work on a cheaper family coverage insurance plan for employees. I would try and model it like the city school system. They have a great program that costs a lot less than the city’s and no one gets theirs for free.

Q: What’s your favorite thing about Franklin County?
A: The people generally care about each other and I love that.

Q: What is something interesting about you that most people don’t know?
A: I’m actually an open book, so there probably isn’t much that people don’t know. I love my family, helping friends, and I also enjoy golf, skydiving (even though I haven’t been in years), hiking, camping, and kayaking.
