Foster grandparents enjoy festival

There were plenty of witches, pumpkins, jail birds and other assorted characters at the Foster Grandparent Program’s Fall Festival on Oct. 18 at the Ralph C. Bishop Community Center.
Foster grandparents from all five counties, including Franklin County, participated in the event that featured games, prizes, refreshments, candy, lunch and guest speaker Jody Hitt from the Russellville Fire Department.
“This is just something fun we wanted to do for our foster grandparents as a way to enjoy the fall season,” said Jessica Latham, Foster Grandparent Program director.
“Many of the schools where our foster grandparents serve have fall festivals and activities and we didn’t want them to miss out on the fun.”
