Golden Tigers in search of school’s first state title

The Russellville High School golf team walked on to the course at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at The Shoals Tuesday morning looking to make history.
The Golden Tigers were looking to win the school’s first ever golf state championship and the first team title for the Russellville athletic program since the 1982 boys basketball team won the 3A state championship.
Entering Tuesday’s competition Russellville had a four-stroke lead over St. Paul’s of Mobile, who is led by University of Alabama signee Robby Shelton.
The Golden Tigers shot a day one team best score of 308. Hagen Price shot 72 for Russellville’s best round. Eli Hodges shot 77 and Will Bragwell shot 78, followed by Aaron Jackson’s round of 81 and Blake Bendall’s 82.
